May I book and pay for the cabin online?

Yes. Go to the Rates & Availablity page and select the dates you would like to stay at our cabin. Next, fill out the form at the bottom of that page. Then you will be taken to PayPal where you can securely pay with a credit card or paypal online. After you have paid online, you will recieve a confirmation email and check in instructions.

How old do I have to be to reserve the cabin?

You must be at least 21-years-old to rent the cabin. The purchaser will be held responsible for any damage caused by himself/herself or anyone in his/her party as well as any stolen items. We have pictures of the entire cabin as well as all of it’s possessions to ensure that, after each guest’s stay, the cabin is left the same way it was found. Lastly, we expect any damage to be reported immediately. That way, we are able to remedy the situation as soon as possible so that all of our future guests are able to have the same relaxing and fun-filled experience!

When is Check-in/Check-out?

Check-IN is anytime after 3:00 PM (EST) on your scheduled day of arrival. You will be given a key code along with directions to the cabin at least one week prior to your arrival date. Check-OUT is by 11 AM (EST) on your scheduled departure date.

How do I get the cabin key?

You don't need one. The cabin has an electronic keypad. We will e-mail you the key code at least one week before your scheduled arrival date.

What do we need to bring?

We provide all of the necessary linens including sheets, blankets, towels and toilet paper. If you’re picky about the feel of your pillow, you may want to consider bringing your own. Should you need to do laundry during your stay, we have a front-loading washer and dryer in addition to any detergents you may need. Although you will need to bring your own hair care and hygiene products, there are 2 blow dryers in the cabin as well as 1 ironing board and iron.

Feel free to bring your favorite coffee and we'll provide the coffee maker, filters, sugar and creamer. In addition to these condiments, we’ll also provide salt, pepper, napkins and paper towels, but you’ll have to bring your own ketchup, mustard, etc. as well as any other food you may want to cook/store during your stay. Although you will have access to some plastic storage bowls, you may want to bring some aluminum foil and/or plastic wrap. We have a gas grill, so there’s no need to worry about charcoal or fluid.

In terms of entertainment, we provide Directv and wireless internet throughout the cabin. You can watch movies on any of our 3 TVs, but you’ll have to bring your own DVDs. There are also a few places within 5-15 miles to rent movies if you’re interested. Also, there is a telephone in the cabin (for local calls only) and a local phone book for your convenience, but you’ll need to bring a cell phone or phone card if you want to make long-distance calls. There is wireless internet access throughout the cabin; you will receive the password 1 week prior to your arrival date. However, you will need to bring your own laptop computer with wireless capabilities. Lastly, we have a Golden Tee Arcade game, pool table and checker table in the downstairs theater room.

What is the driveway like?

It is a shared-gravel drive that goes up a hill and forks. Take the fork to the left to get to our cabin. There are speed limit signs along the drive that limit your speed to 5 MPH. Please adhere to this limit so as to not spook the horses and/or wildlife.

Is there a space big enough to park my boat or RV?

There is a spot next to the carport in which a boat fits nicely as well as the carport itself which is very, very large! Look for the picture soon on our Views page.

Is the cabin secluded?

Yes, this is one of the many beauties of our cabin! It is up on a hill overlooking Douglas Lake and the Smoky Mountains. We are surrounded by woods on 3 sides with a wide-open view from the front of the cabin. Please rest assured that your privacy is intact; the nearest neighboring home is several hundred feet away and is not visible from the cabin itself.

Is the cabin secure?

Yes, it is very secure and we are proud to say that we’ve never had a problem in this respect at our cabin. However, in order to protect our interests, the safety of our guests, their belongings and peace of mind, we've installed a security system that is monitored by Broadview Security 24/7. Lastly, there is a key pad gate at the bottom of the driveway which is the only access to the cabin. Each guest/party will receive their own code to open the gate and set/disarm the alarm system 1 week prior to their arrival date.

May I smoke inside the cabin?

There is absolutely no smoking allowed inside the cabin. There are, however, ash trays on the decks and porch for your convenience. We ask that you only use the trays to dispose of your cigarettes. Should we begin to find them anywhere else, we will implement a no-smoking policy that is subject to the entire property.

What types of animals are around the cabin?

You may see horses in the pasture as we do lend some of our land for grazing, but keep in mind that the horses are not to be ridden. In addition, you may see wildlife such as deer, rabbits, turkeys, bald Eagles, raccoons, and the occasional red fox.

May we bring our pets?

Unfortunately, we have a “No Pets” policy. As much as we love animals, we ask for the sake of our guests that are allergic to pet dander, the well being of the neighboring wildlife, and the upkeep of our home that you not bring any pets onto the property. If you would like to board your pet(s) locally, there are some kennels nearby although none that we are personally familiar with, so feel free to search for one via MapQuest or Yellow Pages.

How far is the nearest gas station and/or shopping center?

Several gas stations, video stores and shopping centers such as Wal-Mart and Bass Pro Shops are within 16 miles. The nearest major grocery store is Food City (5 miles). There is an abundance of restaurants within the same 15-mile radius as well. Please see our Attractions page for a more detailed listing. Also, if you want to do some heavy-duty shopping, Tanger Outlet and Governor's Crossing Outlet are 21 miles away.

Where is the nearest boat launch?

They also rent fishing and pontoon boats and jet skis, and also sell gas, oil, bait, fishing supplies, soda, beer, candy, snacks, caps, sunglasses, souvenirs, ice and ice chests.

Is there a place to rent a fishing or pontoon boat or jet skis?
